Hi Hanford, would like to have the Multi-line Input for Map tool listed at my directory of Google Maps related resources. Feel free to drop by and submit the tool site to the "creation tools" category. Your blog would be a nice addition to the directory too.

Hey, I'm an engineer at Google. I read your post about multi-line text a while ago and asked someone at Google about it back then. I was under the impression that multi-line cut/paste was working now.

I made a little text file at http://www.mattcutts.com/files/address.txt and cut and paste the last two lines in IE into http://maps.google.com/ and it looked like it accurately handled the multiline input correctly.

Could you check maps.google.com again? It's certainly possible that I've hacked my browser and forgot about it. For example, I used IE because in Firefox I used about:config to set editor.singleLine.pasteNewlines to 3 so that the browser does multiline paste by itself. But I thought that Google handled multi-line paste now.

I have to agree - although I haven't checked with new updates for their map service (beta).

I used Googles map service - but since the events on my site are user entered - they can get screwed up sometimes and Yahoo is VERY generous in figuring out what the actually meant.
